In this article, I will share with you my personal experience with pirated games and share the details of how piracy works and what demerits or merits you can have while downloading piracy games.
What is Piracy?
First of all, if you don't know what piracy is I will tell you in simple words. Piracy is the illegal distribution of somebody's work without the permission of the author or without the knowledge of the distributor. Piracy mainly occurs in Videogames, audio, Books, etc.

A few years back I also downloaded pirated copies of newly released games ( I AM BUYING GAMES NOW) from different websites that provide all repacks and cracks of newly released games. At that time I had no money to spend on buying games, so I just downloaded pirated newly released video games so that I can play before the hype ends. But today I am buying games that I am actually supporting the developers.
And trust me buying video games has a lot more satisfaction than pirating games as I have used both sides. If you don't have money to buy games just wait when the price comes down like Steam Sale where the price comes down on a particular event for specific days. If you can't wait, then play the free games on Epic Store or Steam store until the Sale comes.
What is DRM and How the piracy works?
So there is a lot of websites that provide a pirated version of all games, I am not mentioning names here though. Video games come with a protection called DRM that restricts the game to be pirated. But so many scene groups had broken the lock of DRM Protection. There is also a rumor that DRM protection can also affect the game's performance, that is frame drops, etc.
These groups download the game when they are released and access the files of the games and remove the DRM protection. I will tell you about game piracy with an example, Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2 a single-player game just like Grand Theft Auto V requires Social Club to open and run the game, this is basically a kind of DRM.
So the scene groups will have to figure a way out to skip this social club registration, so everybody could access it. These games are then cracked and redistributed to many websites where they compress the cracked game into small sizes.
Do pirated games contain Viruses?
The other factor of pirated games are Virus, the only thing everyone fears before downloading a cracked version of these games. These cracked games may contain viruses (not all but most of them).
I don't know if you have noticed it or not but whenever we start the installation there will be a notice mentioned that you should turn off your anti-virus otherwise your game will not be installed. Don't fall for this trap, and if you run the installation you may notice that a file may be blocked by the antivirus.
That particular file may slow down your PC or take your security details too, be aware of it. Not all times but yeah sometimes it happens so make sure you take risks like this while installing pirated games.
Main Differences of Pirated and Original Copies
Now we can talk about some comparisons between a pirated and original copies of games. First of all the main difference, that is multiplayer. As you know you can't play multiplayer or online mode in pirated games, if you want to play, you have to buy the game for these features.
Secondly the size of the file, pirated games are coming in a compressed form that is the game you are going to download have reduced size compared to its original size, that much not make any difference if you have a really good internet connection.
CONCLUSION
Let's move to our conclusion that is you should stop downloading pirated games and now on start supporting the developers who made the game, support them by buying the game, and if you really want to play games without pirating as I said earlier wait for the Steam sale or there are tons of free games in Steam store add it in your Library and Play.
And also you can wait for Epic store mystery games where you can get AAA titles without spending a single penny. I don't know if you know it but most of them know, Epic store is giving free games every Thursday so don't forget to check that games.
